Crash and Burn

1990

This is not a wacky Full Moon flick, it takes itself seriously and feels like it draws inspiration from Max Headroom and Alien, and that's not at all a bad thing. The small cast holds their own as an isolated misfit group trying to survive in the wasteland while running an unsactioned television station. Computer technology is outlawed, the UV rays from the sun are deadly, and an evil corporation rules this corner of the universe.

The pacing is good, the plot is engaging, the lead characters are likeable and have some depth. There are some clumsy moments here and there, but this film has a good heart and I enjoyed it throughout.
