The Grave

1996

An adequately executed, but unremarkable, treasure hunt tale. The cast is subpar, but the real limiting factor is the script, and as a result the mystery and character relationships are very weak. Given that the story revolves around backstabbing and greed among friends, this is a problem. The ending wasn't bad, but would've been better if I cared about any of the characters, or felt like any of them cared about each other. Anthony Michael Hall provides the best performance, with a character not dissimilar to his role in The Death Artist.
