My Chauffeur

A strange and largely unfunny 80s comedy headed up by Deborah Foreman and Sam Jones (Flash Gordon). The plot is thin, just enough to prop up a series of episodic scenes in which Foreman ushers various clients around LA. Everyone overacts to the point of absurdity, leaving me with the feeling one gets from watching a desparate comedian midway through a flopping stand-up performance. The humor is at best in poor taste and at worst bizarre and counfounding. Penn and Teller feature in a particularly trashy bit about a grifter, an Arab prince, and a lot of fake tits.

I found Foreman's character obnoxious at first, but was ultimately charmed. She throws her heart into all her scenes, which is more than the script deserves.
