Robocop, but the subject is a female terrorist from Beirut. Slows down painfully after the initial action, slogging through medical operations and investigative journalism. Once it picks back up there's a lot of stormtrooper-grade marksmanship, and chase scenes reminiscent of early James Bond. Shockingly, the government's plans to turn a terrorist into a cyborg assassin go awry and many brows are furrowed. A lot of predictable tropes and gags follow.
James Booth, who plays Norma Jennnings' mother's ex-con gambling addict boyfriend in Twin Peaks, appears as a government official. He gets his throat crushed, like everyone else who doesn't get shot.
Half a star for hiding a handgun in a VHS case. Another half for the cyborg's enhanced vocal cords which allow her to phone phreak payphones for free long distance calls.
