Deborah Foreman and a very young Nick Cage star in this high school romantic comedy about young love between a valley girl and a punk rocker from the other side of the tracks. She likes him, he likes her, her friends hate him. There's a thin Mrs Robinson parody sideplot, but otherwise that's about all there is to it.
And yet, simple works. The two leads have cute chemistry, and the script doesn't try to make any grand statements. Like the titular valley girl, this film is rather empty, but has its charms.
